Filling and Root Canal Treatment
If patients come to the clinic with the complaint of food sticking or tingling when drinking something cold in that area, the first thing that comes to our mind is tooth decay. Tooth decay appears as a disease that affects the enamel structure of the tooth, the middle layer dentin structure and sometimes the pulp (vascular nervous system). The enamel-dentin structure becomes soft and there is now bacterial contamination.
If the decay progresses and the nerve structure of the tooth, which we call pulp, is also affected, the problem includes the tooth roots. In such a case, the need for root canal treatment arises. Root canal treatment is performed on the patient, the inflamed nerves in the tooth roots are cleaned, biocompatible plastic bio-materials are placed in this area, a plug is provided and the treatment is terminated by placing a filling on it.
